Studio Edition

This is the latest and greatest version of the software with all features included, and is ideal for feature film or TV series production. Includes upgrades and support for the duration of the project. New features are always included in this Edition first, before the other Editions get them.

Most TV series and feature films made with CelAction2D are made with the Studio Edition.

This is for rental only, so you only pay for what you use. This gives you the most flexible pricing plan on the market, allowing you to scale up and down at your convenience, and our generous terms mean you don't get caught out in emergencies.

For first-time users, rental prices start at £500 GBP / €600 EUR / $800 USD.

The Studio Edition includes the PlusOne module.

Professional Edition

This is a version of the software designed for smaller teams or solo animators, with fewer production workflow and automation features compared to the Studio Edition.

This is purchased as a perpetual licence, with a yearly upgrade fee to get the latest version of the software and support.

Our upgrades begin a new year when you pay for them, they are NOT backdated to when the support last expired. When you upgrade, you receive the latest version of the software, including any upgrades you missed. We don't believe you should pay for something you didn't use.

The Professional Edition does not include the PlusOne module, so that if you don't need the 3D and stereoscopic features, you don't have to pay for them.

Educational Edition

This is functionally exactly the same as the Professional Edition, except it can only be purchased by recognised educational institutions, and cannot be used for commercial productions. It is heavily discounted compared to the Professional Edition, and we have additional discounts for multiple purchases, to make it extremely cost-effective to equip the whole facility.

PlusOne module

Professional Edition with PlusOne module -

PlusOne is an optional module for the Professional Edition.

It allows import of 3D models, and the ability to position and rotate both the models and the levels of 2D animation in a full 3D environment.

You can also output a 3-D stereoscopic-ready file that can then be converted in a third-party program into any 3-D format. The 3-D stereoscopy can be adjusted in real-time from within CelAction2D, using 3-D glasses.

The PlusOne module is automatically included in the Studio and Educational Editions.
